RECIPE...
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted BUTTER, softened room TEMP
1 cup granulated SUGAR
1 cup packed light BROWN SUGAR
2 large EGGS, room TEMP
1 Tablespoon VANILLA extract
3 cups all-purpose 11.7% FLOUR
1 teaspoon baking SODA
1/2 teaspoon baking POWDER
1 teaspoon SALT
2 cups chocolate CHIPS (or Raisins, or Nuts, or Chips, etc.)
1/2 cup chopped NUTS (Optional)
Sprinkle of Pretzel Salt (Optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This is the most important part at altitude, you must cream the butter and sugar until it looks more like whipped cream.
Add the room temperature eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The center should still be slightly soft.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
