In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt for the dumplings.


Cut in the cold butter cubes using a pastry cutter or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.


Stir in the milk gradually, starting with 1/2 cup and adding more as needed, until a soft dough forms.


On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
